Hi-Rise Society: Event Honors Miami Foundation

November 24, 2011 - The Continental Group, one of South Florida's largest property management companies, recently hosted an annual conference and exposition.

More than 1,500 packed a banquet room at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, where Pulitzer Prize winner and keynote speaker Dave Barry reflected on the topical aspects of South Florida living.

Themed as "Partnership is Serious Business," the conference was comprised of Continental Group condominium and homeowners association board members, along with 100 exhibitors representing dozens of industries, community association managers and company employees.

Through the company's Continental Cares, a check for $10,000 was presented to the "I Have a Dream" Foundation of Miami. Founded by the Trump Family, the organization encourages inner city youth to hold on to their dreams and pursue education with a goal to earn a college degree.

"No other community association association management organization has the ability to put together an event of this magnitude. The full day of educational events addressed key topics affecting association board members as well as TCG employees. It's all about delivering added value while building meaningful relationships," said Tim O'Keefe, CEO of TCG, in a prepared statement.

The "I Have a Dream" Foundation of Miami works with students from elementary school through high school who reside in distressed neighborhoods. Qualified students are guaranteed tuition of up to $3,000 per year for four years at a Florida State University or accredited vocational school.
